The Elk Fire is currently raging in northeastern Wyoming, fueled by extraordinarily dry conditions and gusty winds. This rapidly spreading blaze has prompted evacuations and affected numerous homes, ranches, businesses, and natural habitats. Local firefighters are working tirelessly to contain the fire and protect our communities, but they need our help. All donations made via this page will be held by the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Foundation on behalf of the Elk Fire Benefit Fund. A committee is being assembled to oversee disbursements from the fund according to need. Any funds remaining in the fund after needs related to the Elk Fire have been addressed will be divided equally among local rural fire districts.
